Gikondo Substation
The work at Gikondo Substation consisted to Rehabilitation by replacing Outdoor 110kV Switchgears such as Disconnectors, Current and Voltage transformers, Circuit Breakers, Lightning Arrestors, and Bus Bars including all equipment foundations civil works.
This project had a challenge of working into a Substation which is under operation meaning to isolate one partof the substation while another part is still operating/Energized to avoid the permanent power shutdown as the Substation conditions were requiring to remain into operation as one of the main Substations of the Kigali City.
