Jabana Substation
Installation of Indoor 15 kV Gas Insulated Switchgears(GIS) and continuation of feeding Power transformers to avoid the permanent shutdown using the existing Air-Insulated Switchgears(AIS) at Jabana Substation inKigali/Rwanda.
Apart from Installation of indoor 15kV Gas Insulation Switchgears(GIS), the work included replacement of all High and Medium voltage equipment including 110/15kV power transformers, Outdoor 110kV Switchgears such as Disconnectors, Current and Voltage transformers, Circuit Breakers, Lightning Arrestors, Command, Protection and Signalization devices.
The work included also all civil works for both High and Medium Voltage equipment and powerhouse. Thebiggest challenge within the project was to carry out these equipment replacement and simultaneously avoiding the permanent power shutdown as the Substation conditions were requiring to remain into operation as one of the main Substations of the Kigali City.
